WE-EF utilizes its significant expertise and experience to translate the challenges of the marketplace into a range of high quality products. Only marine grade aluminium alloy is used to manufacture WE-EF luminaires. All exposed surfaces feature WE-EF’s superior powdercoat finish which provides excellent corrosion resistance, outstanding adhesion properties and colour stability. Furthermore, most of the luminaires feature ‘cool’ gear compartments achieving a 40°C ambient temperature rating. In contrast to the 25°C rating standard that is generally applied, this higher rating significantly translates into cool running control gear, which improves reli- ability and extends operational life. These outstanding attributes are essential requirements where conditions of extreme temperatures exist such as in Australia, the Middle East, as well as the tropical regions of Asia. Since its establishment over 50 years ago in Germany, WE-EF has maintained an international focus. This can be seen in Europe, where WE-EF has an extensive agency network in key markets, as well as strategic joint ventures in France and the United Kingdom. There is also Factory II, a modern production facility located in Eastern Germany, which also serves as a logistics centre for Eastern Europe. WE-EF’s joint venture in North America, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, began operations in 2000. While placing WE-EF in the heart of the world’s largest economy, this is also a significant milestone in WE-EF’s ongoing global expansion. At the same time, WE-EF has a long term commitment to the Asia Pacific markets with a presence that goes back over two decades and now includes a joint venture in Australia that provides dedicated and hands-on service to the Australasian markets, as well as a regional head office in Thailand. WE-EF’s international presence is supported by an extensive network of authorized country agents that further enables WE-EF to provide comprehensive and detailed customer service. This service includes lighting design and planning support for project engineers, lighting consultants and other professionals, and takes into consideration the varied specific customer requirements and installation practices.
